What is RSS?
Short for "Really Simple Syndication", RSS allows you
to subscribe to a website's content. Extremely popular
with the nerdy websites known as blogs, RSS is going
mainstream with support from stodgy old news sources
like the Washington Post as well.
Newsgator is a common windows RSS client that acts as a
plugin for Outlook, Shrook is supposed to be a good one
on the Mac, and Bloglines is a popular web-based RSS
reader that requires no software installation at all.
Why is RSS better than an email subscription? It's
about control. With RSS you can decide when to start
and stop tracking a website or information service.
With email subscriptions, you are subject to the whims
of the publisher who may wish to spam you, sell your
address to someone who spams you, or may one day get
purchased by someone who decides to tear up the former
company's privacy policy and spam you mercilessly.
Another benefit of RSS over email is that you have
a single centralized place to manage what you track,
as opposed to a million different mailing lists you
may not remember how to unsubscribe from.
You may notice RSS "feeds" on lots of web sites if
you start looking. The white on orange graphic

Most email clients will let you modify your return
address. That is what soandso did, as there is
currently no way to send from dodgeit. We might offer
a way to send for a modest fee somewhere down the road,
if that is something you might be interested
in.
